In 1921, Gothenburg celebrated its tencentennial, but due to the economical crisis, the festivities were postponed until 1923. Between 9 May and 30 September 1923 numerous large exhibitions were held in Gothenburg. One of them was the ‘International Aero Exhibition’, which opened its doors on 20 July and ended on 12 August. Nearly 100 exhibitors from Sweden, France, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Norway, Denmark and Germany presented their products.
Furthermore, between 4 and 12 August 1923, the International Flying Contest was held at the new airport of Gothenburg: Torslanda. Several contest were organised and the participants again came from many countries, but mainly Sweden, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and France. The success of the exhibition and the flying contest was enormous and many visitors came to the exhibition or to Torslanda to see the flying contests.
The author has collected all available material and reconstructed the events of the exhibition and the flying contest. The book is well-illustrated with unique photographs, tables and overviews.

In 1921 vierde Göteborg zijn tienjarig bestaan, maar door de economische crisis werden de festiviteiten uitgesteld tot 1923. Tussen 9 mei en 30 september 1923 werden er talrijke grote tentoonstellingen gehouden in Göteborg. Een daarvan was de 'Internationale Aero Tentoonstelling', die haar deuren opende op 20 juli en eindigde op 12 augustus. Bijna 100 exposanten uit Zweden, Frankrijk, Groot-Brittannië, Nederland, Tsjecho-Slowakije, Italië, Noorwegen, Denemarken en Duitsland presenteerden hun producten.

Bovendien werd tussen 4 en 12 augustus 1923 de International Flying Contest gehouden op het nieuwe vliegveld van Göteborg: Torslanda. Er werden verschillende wedstrijden georganiseerd en de deelnemers kwamen opnieuw uit veel landen, maar voornamelijk uit Zweden, Duitsland, Groot-Brittannië, Nederland en Frankrijk. Het succes van de tentoonstelling en de vliegwedstrijden was enorm en veel bezoekers kwamen naar de tentoonstelling of naar Torslanda om de vliegwedstrijden te zien.
De auteur heeft al het beschikbare materiaal verzameld en de gebeurtenissen van de tentoonstelling en de vliegwedstrijd gereconstrueerd. Het boek is goed geïllustreerd met unieke foto's, tabellen en overzichten.
