United States military designation for a bombardier, navigator trainer for the US Navy and Marine Corps, first flown in 1967. Aircraft were fitted with an Grumman A-6 Intruder nose radome, a simulated A-6 cockpit and four bombardier/navigator consoles for A-6 crew training, nine built. Delivered to US Navy Dec 11, 1967. To AMARC as 4G0005 Oct 17, 1994.
VA-128 "Golden Intruders" was an Attack Squadron of the U.S. Navy.
September 1967: The squadron was assigned the mission of training combat ready flight crews and replacement maintenance personnel for the A-6 Intruder.
