    Standaard Fokkers in museums

    Hoi,

Pehapse a nice idea to show here photos of Fokker aircraft that can be seen in museums around the world. It is not necessary that it is a "real" Fokker, replica and licence built aircraft are also welcome. My first photos a C.V from aviodrome ans a C.V in Sweden.

    groet,

    Mathieu

My first entries are two photos I took of the cockpit of the Fokker D.XXI. The first one is the replica in the Militair Luchtvaar Museum in Soesterberg. The second one is the wreckage of the D.XXI 229 in which Koos Roos was shot down near Nieuwkoop. The remains are located Crash museum in Lisserbroek.
May 11. 1940 the 229, 213 and 242 escorted the Fokkers T.V 850 and 856 on an attack mission at the Meuse bridges near Rotterdam.
On the way back the 229 ran into three Bf.110's. Two Bf.110's will be shot down. The first on is flying behind the 229. Koos Roos decides to bail out due to the severe damage he suffered and releases the canopy. The canopy lands into the propellor of the Bf.110, which starts to smoke and turns away. Koos manages to get on the tail of the second Bf.110 and shoots at it. He notices the gunner getting wounded and the aircraft falls down burning. The last Bf.110 surprises Koos Roos and Koos Roos faints heavily wounded. But due to his first attenpt to bail out, Koos is wearing no belts and is trown out of his cockpit. While falling he gains consciousness and he lands heavily bleeding near his aircraft. He has bruned hands and face, a broken arm, shotwounds in his leg, head and shoulder.
June 1993 the aircraft has been recovered and partially reconstructed.
You can clearly see the damage like a bullethole in the chair and damage caused to the propellor by granates.

    Groet,

    Mathieu.
