    Standaard Wie weet... (F T5)

Wie weet waar deze foto gemaakt is?
of hoe is daar achter te komen?

Hij komt uit het Fokker T5 Handboek.
En welke zou het zijn (85"?")

Who knows where this picture is taken?
    or how to discover it?

It's from the Fokker T5 Manual.
And wich one is it? (85"?")

Hij lijkt me zo vierkant toe.

They didn't have concrete strips on all fields, I can only think of Schiphol and Bergen. And could find no others with a quick look in the Gids voor luchtvarenden 1938.
Assuming the picture was taken in 1938, we can forget Bergen since it was still being build back then. Besides: Schiphol was the homebase for the Fokker T.V.

The paint looks equal to me, that suggests it is still painted in the Fokker factory brown color. So, that suggests the picture was taken in the days it was still with Fokker, what makes Schiphol the most likely location.

The number is hard to find. The piece you see looks square to me. That would only leave the 1 and 2, since all other numbers are rounded in that corner. Only number 7 is a bit square again, but should show a diagonal angle.

I looked in the book "Klu Vliegtuigen" of Wim Schoenmaker and saw a picture of the 850 wich also looks pretty square to me.

So to determine if it is the 850, 851 or 852 is pretty hard

Thx for your theory on the airbase, it sounds very logical

EDIT: It can't be the 350, as the zeros are indeed not square, an error in the book or something

Assuming handbooks are printed first , and productionruns commence after that; it's plausible to say the pics are from the earliest aircraft built, so 850

    Hoi Erwin,

I have sent your question to Mr. Willem Vredeling, the expert concern the history of Fokker. He told that it is the 851. This was the first T.V to get its paint, after that Fokker used it for some time to do test/experiments. It was also the first T.V who got a strenghted stabilo. The 850 got this later. The photo was made at Schiphol.

    Groet,

Hoi Erwin, Graag gedaan!

@Skybert, manual were not that commen at that time. In fact the G.1, D.XXI and T.V were the first Fokkers that had a manual. But these were written only after the first aircraft were delivered to the LVA ( Dutch atmy air services) Just like the C.X and C.V, the T.8W never had a manual. For these aircraft Fokker issued a kind of service bulletin. Most of the time these were translations of instruction issued by the manufactures of individual parts, like Rolls Royce or instrument manufactures. This is one of the reasons that so little is known about the instruments used in the cockpit of the C.V. A different story is the Douglas 8A, this aircraft had well illustrated and detailed manual.

    Groet, Mathieu.

There were maintenance scheme's made for the C.V, for the fuelsystem, oilsystem and landinggear. other things such as the electrical wiring as well. Other matters, such as tirepressure, propellers are dealt with in a basic maintenance document.
