Ik ben in de dossiers van de NPC nergens de aanschaffing van deze dubbelmitrailleurs tegengekomen. Gezien de prioriteit van hun eigen oorlogsindustrie verwacht niet dat er ooit goedkeuring voor de aanschaf zou zijn verleend.
In het begin zijn er problemen geweest met de constructiesterkte van de staart. Die zijn dacht ik verholpen, maar of dan die zwaardere belasting mogelijk zou zijn, betwijfel ik.

I was not aware of structural concerns related to the Do. 24's tail section. The same (13-page) document from which I pulled the Vega Aircraft letter below, also references installation of twin 7.7mm (or 12.7mm) machine guns in the X-boat tail position. It doesn't mention if that was related to weight / structural issues, or lack of availability of the larger weapons. But almost certainly, the Dornier blueprints provided to Vega would have helped their engineers address the structural weakness of the tail.
