12/28/74: First flight. 2/21/75: TOS USAF. Assigned to 89th Military Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, MD.
This aircraft served the administrations of Presidents Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Clinton, and George W. Bush.
Over that time the wing flew thousands of missions. Aside from flying the presidents, it also flew Vice-Presidents Walter Mondale, George H.W. Bush, Dan Quayle, Albert Gore, and Dick Cheney;
First ladies Rosalynn Carter, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush; Cabinet Members and dignitaries, both domestic and foreign.
1977: Redesignated C-9C.
9/05: 73rd Airlift Squadron, 932nd Airlift Wing (AFRES), Scott AFB, IL. 9/16/11: SOC. Phoenix, Williams AFB, AZ for storage.
10/26/11: U.S. Department of State, Patrick AFB, FL, with c/r N681AL. Based with U.S. Department of State Air Wing, Williams AFB, Phoenix, AZ.
5/13: WFU, offered for public sale. Arrived at Castle Air Museum, Atwater, Califoria Oct 16, 2013 for display.
