Grumman XF10F-1 Jaguar (124435).
The unusual and innovative swing-wing Jaguar program ended up being a one-airplane project even though, during its development, orders were placed for 112 aircraft. That ship, BuNo 124435, would only be flown by one pilot, Corwin "Corky" Meyer. When the program concluded in 1953, after over a year of flight testing, the flight test example 124435 along with the number two ship 124436, which was some 90% complete, were shipped to the Naval Air Material Center, Philadelphia, for use in testing barriers and barricades. The static test article, which was some 60% complete, was shipped to the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland for use as a target.

North American XAT-6E.
North American XAT-6E NX 74108 is the only converted AT-6D Texan (NA-88) fitted with a 575hp Ranger V-770-9 V-12 inline engine for comparative trials. It was built as 42-84241.
Dit toestel heeft nu een civiele registratie maar omdat ik hem interessant vind plaats ik hem toch omdat ik (nog) geen foto in mijn bezit heb met militaire kentekens.

Wat extra gegevens over dit toestel:

c/n: 88-16022. Met civiele regi NX74108 (eigenlijk N74108 met toevoeging "X" voor 'experimental') heeft het toestel in 1947 aan de Cleveland air race meegedaan met racenummer 61, gevlogen door Margaret McGrath. In het Western Museum of Flight in Hawthorne, CA staat niet de echte XAT-6E 284241, maar een replica. (volgens de Warbird Directory).
Volgens de FAA-site werd het toestel op 4 februari 1947 in het civiele register ingeschreven als een AT-6D Texan op naam van de Fairchild Engine & Airplane Corp. Het toestel werd uitgeschreven op 27 juni 1951. Verder lot onbekend...
