Ryan STM Trainers Losses On Java

Does anyone know which Ryan STM-2S this might be? I found it on the NIMH website but their staff were unable to offer any additional details. Given the number of T.IVs - and what appears to be Madoera Island in the background - I'm guessing this photo was taken at Morokrembangan naval air station.

Hi Tommy,

Coming soon is a new title in the 'Dutch Profile' series of books, as published by Luuk Boerman alongside his 'Dutch Decals' series for the modellers. The new book describes the procurement and the use of the Ryan ST-series in Dutch service. It will also provide the histories of the individual aircraft as far as details are known. Unfortunately it won't give you the answers to the questions that you raised.
Many records have disappeared in time and the war-time stories that were published by the Ryan factory are very inaccurate to put it mildly. I will paste a shortcut to the website of the publisher. Ordering details will be there as soon as the publication is ready and printed:
