    Standaard MLD Ryan STM-2 Trainers

On / about December 10, 1941 the MLD flight training school at Morokrembangan evacuated its Ryan STM-2S floatplanes and various Fokker single-engine floatplanes to a small auxiliary base at Lake Grati (approx. 60 KM east of Soerabaja).

Does anyone here know to where the Ryan STM-2 land trainers at Perak Airfield were evacuated? I've seen sources refer to both Malang and Madiun / Maospati. I'm inclined to think Maospat, since Peter Boer shows that at least 16 Ryan land trainers were disassembled there for shipment to Australia.

Never mind! I found the information I was looking for. Per Peter Boer, the Ryan STM-2 land trainers were first flown to Malanag, and then onto Maospati.

    Hi Tommy,
Maospati is also mentioned in the book 'De val van Java' (Nico Geldhof & Prudent Staal; 2017; published by Geromy).
The move took place on the 15th of December 1941 according to this book. On that day twelve STM-E2's and three DH-82's were ferried from Perak to Maospati.
